Domaine de la Vallongue

Domaine de la Vallongue

Coincidences can change a life, so also with Monsieur Paul Cavalier. During a hunting trip in 1970 in the area of Eygalière he discovered a magical beautiful piece of land with a total of 300 hectares of land that was for sale between the rocks of the Alpilles and pine forests.

After buying the Domaine de la Vallongue, emerged where the soils for viticulture were suitable and showed promise, a total of 38 hectares of vineyards with larger and small plots.

Partly the names of these parcels as "Pierres Cassés", or "La Source Blanche" interpret attention to the mineral-rich soils, the great organic wines would bring.
From the outset the merits of the climate, the soil and the vines should be respected and reflected in the wines as quintessence. Consequently, in 1985 the biological viticulture has already been introduced to the Mistral makes a valuable contribution. The Domaine de la Vallongue was one of the first organic wines estates in the appellation Les Baux de Provence, which did not use artificial fertilizers, synthetic insecticides and pesticides and produced the typical, unadulterated organic wines of the region.
In 2008, Mr. Latouche took over the Domaine de la Vallongue and continued running in the sense of its predecessor.
