There is literally no Château La Métairie de Monconseil, and neither is there a winery, but just a vineyard that Christian Gourgourio bought a few years ago in the wine-growing region of Blaye on the Gironde. By working as a viticulture consultant, he found the logical access to organic viticulture and became a self-employed and independent winemaker.

In Bordeaux, it is not easy to find affordable, larger, contiguous vineyards. That's why in 2014 he bought 3.57 hectares of vineyards in Tauriac, in the Côtes de Bourg appellation and named it CLOS DU MOUNAT. 2017 FOLLOWED the purchase of another vineyard in neighboring Blaye. He gave the wine produced there the name CHÂTEAU LA MÉTAIRIE DE MONCONSEIL. This is common and legal practice in the Bordeaux area. The conversion to organic viticulture began immediately in 2014.
