Château Moulin à Vent

Château Moulin à Vent is located in the municipality of Moulis (Moulis en Médoc). The vineyards belonging to Château Moulin à Vent cover 22 hectares and are planted with the region's typical grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. The planting density is an impressive 6,666 vines per hectare. The soil in the vineyards consists of a concentrate of the gravel soils of the Garonne and the Pyrenees on a clay-limestone subsoil, which favors the long and even ripening of Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes. The combination of these advantages enables the creation of powerful, elegant, and racy wines that can be aged for a long time.

The grapes are harvested by hand. Maceration and fermentation take place plot-by-plot and grape-varietal-by-varietal in small, temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and aging takes place in 225-liter oak barrels, one-third of which are replaced annually.

The winery is run and managed entirely by women. Quen is the technical manager, Florence is responsible for administration, and Pilar Jimenez, the oenologist, is responsible for winemaking.
