Domaine de Marcoux, Châteauneuf du Pape AOC, biodynamic wine, red, 2014
Robert Parker's comment:
The noble, elegant Châteauneuf du Pape 2014 Domaine de Marcoux has a grandiose purity as well as a medium bodily wealth, a wealth of strawberry and raspberry fruits, floral and spice flavors. The wine has an open, expansive, enjoyable style. The mix in 2014 consists of 80% Grenache and 10% each Syrah and Mourvèdre, which have matured in a combination of demi-muids, concrete tanks and Tronconique tanks. It should be drinkable until 2024.
The explanation of the two winegrowers to their Châteauneuf du Pape wines:
The grapes for the red Châteauneuf du Pape thrive in 13 different vineyards, whose soil is composed differently. This allows to produce very complex, dense as well as pure wines with beguiling aromas. In general, the wines of Marcoux always tend to red fruit flavors with smoky notes of flint, which develops with age.

Organic wine processing Châteuneuf du Pape red
The Domaine de Marcoux has been farmed for many years using biodynamic methods, and winemaking is also based on these principles. For this biodynamic Châteauneuf du Pape come the grapes of more than 50 years old vines from 13 different plots of the Appellation Châteauneuf du Pape. The vintage is done manually depending on the degree of ripeness of the grapes in the various vineyards. The grapes are already selected during the manual grape picking on the vines, then transported in 50 kg containers into the winery. Here the grapes are separated from the stems and panicles, macerated and fermented at a controlled temperature. During this process, the mash is circulated. This process lasts 15 days to 3 weeks. This wine then matures for 18 months in concrete tanks and in 350 l wooden barrels.
