Nathalie Margan continues the Château La Canorgue in the spirit of her father, who sees the basis for producing good organic wine in flawless and healthy grapes. This is done throughout the year in the vineyards a lot of work. How right this approach is, sees, smells and tastes when tasting the Château la Canorgue Beret Frog, which is one of the best in the region. It has a medium-bodied body, and rich, fruity and spicy fragrances and taste components that reveal after decanting (aerating).

 

Organic wine profile

  • Color: ruby red
  • Nose: stimulating fruity, spicy fragrance that is quite typical of the Syrah grape
  • Palate: young, sassy organic wine, made from Syrah with intense aromas of red berries and spices. We find again these dark berry flavours, leather and praline hints, well-structured and a long finish.
  • Drinking recommendation: Serve with 16° C.

 

Organic wine - processing Château La Canorgue, Beret Frog, IGP de la Mediterranée, red

The harvest of the grapes by hand is the culmination of a good and busy year in the vineyard, which is eagerly awaited by every winemaker. Because the weather, maybe it's already the climate, can destroy the expectations for a good harvest at the last moment. 50 % of the grapes are de-stemmed and spontaneously fermented together with the other 50 % with the so-called maceration semi-carbonique, that is, with the whole berries on the grapes. This spontaneous fermentation lasts 10 days.

After alcoholic fermentation, the so-called lactic acid fermentation takes place, in which the more aggressive malic acid is converted into lactic acid. After that 25% of the organic wine matures for 5 months in oak barrels and 75% in the big barrel.
