Organic wine - Profile

• Color: ruby red color with maroon tones.
• Nose: Fresh aromas of blackberries, strawberries, with floral accents.
• Mouth: mineral on the palate, seductively fruity, with well integrated acidity that gives this red wine freshness, voluminous with medium structure, sweet, ripe tannins and a long aftertaste.
• Drinking recommendation: Serve this wine at 16-18 ° C.

The winery covers 100 hectares of vineyards, 30 hectares of which are cultivated biodynamically according to the criteria of the Demeter Association and 70 hectares organically. Since the grapes for all wines come from biodynamically as well as organically farmed vineyards, with a few exceptions, 
they may not be declared as such according to the current Demeter rules. Over the next few years, all vineyards will be converted to biodynamic viticulture.

The grapes for this wine come from the vineyards Can Prats, Can Castany and Can Miquel de les Planes in Espiells, a privileged area between San Llorenç and Gelida, North Est Penedès. they have been planted between 1979 to 1985.

The harvest in 2020

We chose the best vines of each variety of our terroir to produce this wine. After selecting the grapes is a manual harvest in small boxes. Fermentation and maceration with the skins for 12 days at 22ºC, with two daily pumping. Aged in third and fourth year French oak barrels for 9 months.

For this red organic wine, the best grapes were selected, harvested by hand, brought to the winery in transport boxes, spontaneously fermented in the mash with indigenous yeasts for 12 days and then for nine months in French oak barrels (3rd and 4th occupancy ,. so that the influence of the wood does not have a dominant effect and suppresses the fruity components of the wine) matured.
