Weingut Sander Gruenfraenkisch, organic wine, white, 2021

The organic wine Weingut Sander Zeitensprung Grünfränkisch is thanks to Stefan Sander, who neither discovered nor cultivated this old, almost disappeared grape variety. It has its origin in the Carpathian Basin and was brought to the Rhine via northern Hungary in the High Middle Ages. Until it was rediscovered in 2008, it was considered extinct.

Scents and aromas of ripe cider pear, apple peel, apple sauce and quince compote, refreshing with clearly spicy notes.

Grünfränkisch Zeitensprung, Weingut Sander, organic wine processing

The Sander winery first had to obtain approval for the cultivation of this old but unknown grape variety. Then, like all vines, it was treated organically and carefully cared for. The grapes were harvested by hand and fermented into wine in the classic way. Afterwards, this organic wine matured for a long time, embedded in a clay amphora, completely shielded from light, but under the influence of seasonal temperature fluctuations.
