In the wine-growing region of Baden and especially on the Kaiserstuhl mainly Burgundy grape varieties are grown. Whether Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc or Pinot Gris, all feel very well here in Germany's southernmost corner with most sunny days / year. This is especially noticeable on the Weingut Abril Pinot Noir Stein an excellent organic red wine.

Organic wine - profile

• Color: light burgundy red
• Nose: a real potpourri of scents and aromas that hold both the soil rich in minerals on which the vines grew, and Pinot Noir grape with which this organic red wine was produced. Sour cherries, grapefruit, dried plums, black tea, allspice, black pepper, thyme, tobacco, bacon, smoked and malt are all flavors you can feel.
• Mouth: We must accept its typicality to enter the universe that this wine offers us. As a walk in the forest you will be surprised at first by its minerality and its slight acidity, that of small red berries such as currant or lingonberry, wait a little to fall on herbaceous notes of fern before the aroma arises woody and smoked. Finally, notes of truffle and spices add the finishing touch.

About the Abril winery

Located between the Vosges and the Black Forest, the Kaiserstuhl is visible from afar on the banks of the Rhine. A vineyard in the best sense of the word, born from an active volcano about 19 million years ago. On its flanks have formed layers of mineral-rich soils which today, in connection with a favorable climate, offer excellent conditions for organic viticulture.
