Not many winegrowers are as lucky as Jochen Neher to be able to purchase a winery that has a vineyard in an excellent location with almost 90-year-old Riesling vines. This makes them the oldest vines in the entire Rheingau. They were planted in 1936 and today only result in a small harvest, but the grapes are of excellent quality, which is expressed in this Weingut Mohr Lorcher Schlossberg Riesling

Organic wine profile

• Colour: brilliant delicate gold
• Nose: soft and mild aromas reminiscent of dried apricot, ripe yellow peach and eucalyptus with nuances of honey and a hint of smoke.
• Mouth: the quintessence is a lavish abundance of complex fragrances and aromas
  Riesling, which at the same time convinces a typical youthful freshness with refreshing acidity in an intense and long finish.

Of course, the grapes are harvested by hand. Freed from stems and panicles, they macerated in the chilled mash for 4 days.

During this time, the juice extracts important aromas from the berry shells and valuable enzymes are created. Only then were the grapes pressed. The wine is fermented exclusively with the natural yeasts that come from this vineyard: half of the wine matures in a small oak barrels, the other part in a stainless steel container.
