The Herdade dos Outeiros Altos Private Selection Alentejo DO is a wonderful red organic wine, the fruit of the native vine varieties that have adapted for centuries to the hot temperatures in the Alentjo. with the attractive, but barely perceptible aromas of oak barrels. Only indigenous grape varieties are used that have been adapted for centuries to the climate and soil conditions in the Alentejo area in the southern part of Portugal. The vineyards of Herdade dos Outeiros Altos in the Alentejo area are planted in spring to early summer with flowering, nitrogenous plants (legumes) and herbs, which are then mulched, cover the soil and later serve the vines as organic fertilizer. The grape harvest is carried out manually, the grapes are placed in containers of approx. 10 kg in the nearby wine cellar, where each grape is macerated and fermented in its mash. Then matured first in stainless steel tanks and then 12 month in barriques made of French oak wood in which this organic red wine retains its fruity aromas and the fresh character of the grapes used, supplemented with very interesting flavors due to the  aging in barriques.
