Quinta do Montalto

The Quinta do Montalto is a farm,

which has been managed by the Pereira family for five generations.
It is located in the large wine-growing region of Lisbon, which was formerly called Estremadura.

Since 1997, fruit and vegetables have been grown here on 50 hectares in addition to organic wine and processed into preserves.

The 15.5 hectare vineyards on gently sloping slopes are surrounded by forest and thus shielded from the harmful effects of conventional agriculture. The soils in the vineyards are relatively fertile and, under favorable weather conditions, without long periods of heat and drought, can produce yields of 30 to 40 hl / hectare. The vineyards are in close proximity to the winery, so that the harvested grapes can be transported to the wine cellar for further processing in the shortest possible time.
