Biodynamic wines, Demeter wines, biodynamic sparkling wines

Biodynamic viticulture is based on the agricultural and anthroposophical ideas of Rudolf Steiner. Part of this working method is the avoidance of chemical pesticides, the production and use of biodynamic preparations to strengthen the soil and plants, as well as to ward off pests. A special feature is that all work steps are carried out both in the vineyard and in the cellar with certain constellations of the moon and stars.

Advice and support for the production of biodynamic wines receive winegrowers from the Demeter Association, provided they are members there.

Biodyvin is the French association specifically for the production of biodynamic wines in France.

In order to produce biodynamic wine, to use all or only parts of the biodynamic working method, membership in these associations is not required. However, all of them must be certified according to the EU organic regulation. You can find details in our organic wine lexicon.
