Organic wine France, biodynamic wines France, organic wine pure

Organic wines and biodynamic wines from France are delivered  by Germanies first importer and retailer of organic wines Biowein [pur] since 1983.

Organic wines and biodynamic wines have been produced in France since 1956 (Domaine des Vignes du Maynes and Frederic Jougla are known to us personally). Since then, the term “organic wine” has not only been legally recognized, but is now literally on everyone’s lips. Organic wines can be found on the wine lists of the best restaurants in France and they are an important factor in France's wine industry, as the area cultivated for organic wine and biodynamic wine already accounts for around 20% of the total wine-growing area in France. This may be an indication that not only has the environmental awareness of our neighbors improved, but that even the Grand Cru Classé winemakers in the Médoc, who are considered to be conservative, are increasingly switching to organic wine production.

We at Biowein [pur] have been officially 100% ahead of everyone else in Germany since January 15, 1983. focused on organic wine and first imported it from France. Beforehand, we had needed a test phase lasting several years and made numerous trips to the wine-growing regions of France, visited winemakers, completed internships in wineries, took courses at the Université du Vin in Suze la Rousse, tested countless wines and learned what they were used for should be taken into consideration when selecting wineries and wines.

When selecting our organic wines from France, great importance is placed on their flawless appearance, on a clear grape-specific scent, and on a good and lasting taste typical of the grape variety. However, we also take into account the quality of the production processes from the vineyard to bottling, which must take place in the organic wineries with their own workforce. This means that responsibility for our organic wines lies with the owners of the respective wineries and not with a bottling company or a shipping company that transports the wine to Germany in a tanker. This means that the origin is always traceable for us and our customers, because we do not purchase organic wine and biodynamic wine from cooperatives or from wine bottling companies Are offered to consumers as so-called own brands at overpriced prices. Therefore, when buying organic wine from France, make sure to only buy original winery bottlings. This is shown on the bottle labels saying "mis en bouteilles par le Domaine or Château", or "mis en bouteilles par le producteur". or Mis en bouteilles au Domaine or Château". In addition, the name and address of the winery with postal code and city are always given.

We ensure that our organic wines from France are produced in a socially responsible manner.

We know that occupational health and safety laws and compliance with the SMIG (minimum wage) are strictly controlled in France and violations are punished severely. On the other hand, extremely low prices for organic wines from France suggest that these low prices can only come about at the expense of employees who are poorly paid, do not have social security, work "black" and do not receive paid vacation. That's why great suspicion is appropriate when it comes to extremely cheap organic wine.

Depending on the location of the vineyards and mechanical equipment, the size of a winery and the type of management, be it organicor biodynamic, a certain number of permanent employees and seasonal short-term employees are required, for example during the wine harvest. Ultimately, the calculation of the sales price of a wine depends on this. If this is disproportionately low, either the harvest quantity is too high, and therefore the organic wine is inferior, or the social conditions at the winery do not meet the standard. French organic wines and biodynamic wines you will not find such wineries in our range.

We take into account the wine trends that emerge over time and the needs of wine connoisseurs who, for example, are sensitive to sulfur in wine, by offering organic wines that contain no added SO2. For vegans, we offer organic wines that have not been clarified and filtered with protein of animal origin. We also offer so-called natural wines (this term is not clearly defined) if their quality meets our expectations (conspicuous labels are not enough).
